Forum: etree Subject: some suggestions ..

Looks great Jon, i can't wait to get started on trying out this new program. just a few suggestions:

1. in the above post (the one that this is a reply to) i think you accidentally put the wrong link to the 'Contribution Center' typed out below the correct link that is hyper linked to the words 'Contribution Center'. The correct link spelled out is: "http://www.archive.org/contribute.php" right? the link that is spelled out now looks and is the exact same link as is the 'import' link of step two.

2. the link to the Contribution Center (http://www.archive.org/contribute.php) would really be good to put a link to it in the "Contributing to the Live Music Archive" box on the left of the landing page, directly below the "Import your uploads and server mirrors" link. it seems like a logical step to put the link there.

thoughts on this?

P.S. if we have uploaded a show on etree04.archive.org (mid dec.) before it became 100% full, and it hasen't been md5 checked or made public yet, do we need to do anything to move it to etree05? Or should we just hold off and be patient? Thanks for all the hard work.

Yup! Thanks for catching that. I think I fixed it now.

Good call. Will do shortly.

We're moving stuff off of etree04 right now to etree06. So tonight you should have enough room to fix your uploads there. Those will be imported in the old way. If you'd rather, you can delete your shows from etree04 and reupload to etree05.

Enjoy and thanks!

sounds like a plan. i deleted them off etree04 and i'll re-upload them to etree05 to try-out the new system.

Thanks for creating this new thing. sounds much more efficient and user-friendly then the old system. plus, with that step 3/contributions page, people can see what stage their import is at so they don't keep making the "Where is my show" posts.
